Phase shift imaging in thin films using CW Z-scan based technique

نویسندگان

چکیده

The beam waist relative variation (BWRV) method known as a Z-scan based technique is used to demonstrate its feasibility in characterizing the thermal effects induced by continuous laser different materials. A study of several classical solvent-based solutions (water, ethanol, methanol …) carried out before introducing extension BWRV laterally map tested sample. We show that transverse xy-scan sample allows extract an image phase shift due local heating. This new device, called XYZ-scan, designed for characterization inhomogeneous samples. An example will be given on 1.6μm thick thin film doped with silver nanoparticles.

Ultrafast Nonlinear Optical and Optical Limiting Properties of Phthalocyanine Thin Films Studied Using Z-Scan

We have investigated the nonlinear optical properties, optical limiting thresholds, and figures of merits for five different phthalocyanine thin films, achieved through doping in PMMA polymer, using the Z-scan technique at 800 nm with 2 ps laser pulse excitation. From the open-aperture Z-scan data we derived that these molecules exhibit strong two photon absorption (2PA) with the nonlinear abso...

Relation between Local Composition, Chemical Environment and Phase Shift Behavior in Cr-Based Oxycarbonitride Thin Films

The latest deep ultra-violet (DUV) photomask technology requires macroscopic properties such as optical transmission, reflectance, and chemical reactivity to be precisely controlled. Therefore, a fundamental understanding of the relationship between atomic bonding and nanometer scale property variation is required. Thin films of Cr-OC-N are compositionally graded to produce specific attenuation...

Single-beam differential z-scan technique.

We report a single-beam, differential z-scan technique with improved sensitivity for the determination of nonlinear absorption and refraction of materials. A sample is scanned in the direction of beam propagation as usual, but, in addition, its longitudinal position is dithered, producing a detector signal proportional to the spatial derivative of only the nonlinear transmission and therefore g...

Thiazole based novel functional colorants: Synthesis, characterization and nonlinear optical studies using picosecond Z-scan technique

Organic push–pull chromophoric system containing thiazole Schiff bases were synthesized from aminothiazole intermediate. These novel chromophores possessed excellent thermal and optical properties with complete transparency in the visible spectral region. Thermogravimetric analysis revealed that all dyes were thermally stable at temperatures above 300 C. The third-order nonlinear optical studie...

Influence of aging temperature on phase transformation and mechanical behavior of NiTi thin films deposited by magnetron sputtering technique

In this study, NiTi thin films were deposited on the glass and NaCl substrates by means of magnetron sputtering method. The influence of aging temperature, over the range 300-500 oC, on phase transformation and mechanical properties of the sputtered NiTi thin films were studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and nano-indentation assay, respectively. The DSC curves showed that the ag...
